Terms and Conditions

Welcome

These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings, memberships, and activities organised by Wild and Free with SJ. By booking an event or purchasing a membership, you agree to the following terms.

Event Bookings

  • Event bookings can be made directly through our website (www.wildandfreewithsj.com) or via Eventbrite.

  • Please ensure you have read the event description carefully before booking, including details regarding fitness requirements, required equipment, and route difficulty.

  • Location & Driving Notice: Event locations and accommodation are often situated in remote, rural, or mountainous areas. Before booking, please ensure you are comfortable driving to these locations and are aware that access may involve narrow rural lanes, steep inclines, unpaved tracks, or single-track roads with passing places.

Payment & Refunds

Day Events

  • Payments for guided walks and other day events are non-refundable.

  • If you are no longer able to attend, you may sell your place privately (for example, via the Wild and Free with SJ community chat/group), subject to our approval.

  • Please notify us by email once the transfer has been agreed so we can update our attendee list. Note: The replacement participant must submit their emergency contact details and medical declaration to us prior to the event.

UK Weekenders

  • Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place.

  • All payments for trips and weekenders are strictly non-refundable under any circumstances if you cancel due to personal circumstances once a booking is confirmed.

  • Where a trip has sold out, you may request permission to sell your place privately to another suitable participant. Any transfer must be approved in advance by Wild and Free with SJ, and the replacement participant must submit all required emergency contact and medical declarations before the transfer is confirmed.

Changes & Cancellations

The safety of our participants will always come first.

Due to weather, environmental conditions or other safety considerations, we may need to alter routes, itineraries, accommodation or activities.

If Wild and Free with SJ postpones an event due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control including severe weather, natural disasters, public health emergencies or other force majeure events you'll be offered either:

  • a transfer to an alternative date or event (where available), or

  • a voucher for the value of your ticket price

If an event is not postponed but cancelled completely, you will be offered a full refund.

Wild and Free with SJ cannot accept responsibility for any additional costs you've incurred, including travel, accommodation or other expenses booked independently.

Participant Responsibilities

Participants are responsible for:

  • ensuring they are physically able to complete the advertised activity

  • bringing suitable clothing, footwear and equipment

  • informing us of any relevant medical conditions before the event.

Our leaders reserve the right to refuse participation or ask someone to leave an event if their behaviour, equipment or physical condition presents a risk to themselves or the group.

No refund will be given in these circumstances.

Conduct

We are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment.

We ask all participants to treat fellow members, leaders and members of the public with kindness and respect throughout every event.

Photography

Photographs and videos may occasionally be taken during events for use on our website and social media.

If you'd prefer not to appear in photographs, simply let your leader know before the event.
